Well, I found a plug-in for grass, but I guess you lost interest already.

Hi, I'm back!

Let us know how you like it. I haven't had a chance to give it a real workout, but it seems pretty cool. ...and thanks for asking. I was starting to wonder if people here could write more than one letter. LOL

Re: fur for animals
I haven't gotten into v10 yet. It's like a whole new app. I know there is a Hair section that could be used for grass.

Re: fur for animals
Hi rT,
I'm running back and forth here, hopefully hooked up ti internet today.
Fired up v10 and have a blade of grass started, so There's at least a tut out there. If I stumble across what I was doing I'll let you know. Still dazed from moving. LOL

more grass
OK. Did a quick test. Do you have v9 of max? If so, use the plug in there, and export as 3ds, import into v10. Right now that seems to work fine. I'm not sure if other plug-ins, like Trapcode, will work. Probably take awhile for everybody to catch up with all that stuff. I'm guessing I'll be using v9 for a long time. LOL
Good luck and post any progress.
